From Campus Dreams to Professional Impact

Walking through the orchards of VCSG UUHF Bharsar a decade ago, none of us could have predicted how profoundly the Himalayan ecosystem would shape our life careers. The university provided not just theoretical agricultural science, but immersive fieldwork that taught resilience, ecological stewardship, and innovative problem solving.

After graduating in 2016, I set out to bridge the gap between traditional hill agriculture and modern smart-farming solutions. With the technical foundation built at UUHF, our team launched an agro-tech initiative that helps over 1,200 local farmers across Garhwal and Kumaon monitor soil health, optimize cold storage logistics, and secure direct-to-market prices.

Returning to Bharsar to interact with current students always brings back a surge of nostalgia and pride. The spirit of inquiry and commitment to Uttarakhand’s green economy is as vibrant today as it was when we were students.
