The “Walnut Nursery Establishment and Propagation Techniques for Sustainable Agroforestry” workshop aims to build technical capacity among farmers, students, and field professionals in developing quality planting material of Juglans regia (walnut). The event will focus on scientific methods of seed collection, stratification, germination, grafting, and nursery management practices suitable for temperate hill regions.
Participants will gain practical exposure through live demonstrations on seed sowing, rootstock development, and grafting techniques to enhance walnut propagation efficiency. The programme also emphasizes nursery entrepreneurship, quality assurance, and the role of walnut cultivation in sustainable agroforestry and livelihood improvement.
